New Super Mario Bros. U is a 2D video game which was developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii U in 2012.New Super Luigi U was released as an additional campaign for the year of Luigi in 2013.Super Mario Bros. U is the fourth title in the New Super Mario Bros. series. The Super Mario Bros. U game received a tremendous growth and was good enough to consider it as one of the best-selling games for Wii U.

The main motive of New Super Mario Bros. U is to save Princess Peach from her castle which has been captivated by some monsters like Bowser, Bowser Jr. and The Koopalings who avoid Mario, Luigi and The Two Toads to reach the castle using their techniques like Giant Mechanical Arm to throw them away from the castle.

Mario and Their friends travel to the New Land to fight monsters and to save her. While on journey, they meet few of the monsters like Nabbit, Goomba, Bowser Jr. , Koopalings. After defeating them and getting closer to the castle they encounter Bowser. Conquering the Bowser and saving the Princess Peach.
After the defeat of the monsters, Heroes celebrate. Taking the advantage, Bowser Jr. and Koopalings try to escape and run away from the castle almost leaving defeated Bowser behind. But unfortunately the monsters are forced to flee on Bowser Jr.’s Koopa clown car as the airship crashes due to Bowser’s weight while jumping into it.

New Super Mario Bros. U Gameplay

New Super Mario Bros. U iterates on the gameplay featured in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The objective of each level is to reach the goal flag at the end of each level while avoiding enemies and hazards.

Wii Remotes and Wii Game pads are used to control the game. The latter of which allows for Off-TV Play. Where the game can be played solely on the Game Pad’s screen, without the use of a television. Wii U Pro Controller support is added.

Up to five players can play simultaneously. In multiplayer, the player using the Wii U GamePad cannot control a character. But instead can interact with the environment, such as putting blocks down that can aid Mario or stunning enemies. As such, in multiplayer, there must be an equal number of controllers, excluding the GamePad, to the desired number of on-screen characters.

Certain game modes also allow players to play Mii characters saved on their console. Boost mode which is a new release is a asymmetric multiplayer experience. In this mode, the player with the Game Pad can aid other players by using the touchscreen to place blocks on the screen or stun enemies. In this both type of players i.e. Amateur and Expert are allowed to take speed runs. The Koopalings, Bowser, Kamek, Boom Boom, and Bowser Jr. appear as the game’s main villains.

As of March 31, 2019, New Super Mario Bros. U has worldwide sales of 5.79 million.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe yielded sales of 455,006 physical copies within its first month on sale in Japan, outperforming its Wii U counterpart. Deluxe also debuted at the top of the charts in the United Kingdom. Selling 56% more copies in its first week than when the Wii U version launched.
